Fresh Water Tank - 28 BH

I just recently purchased a 2009 28BH North Trail 5th Wheel. We just got back from our maiden camping trip. I couldn't get the fresh water tank to register more than 1/3 full. Any thoughts?

Also, does anyone know where the fresh water tank is stored? I wanted to have a look and see how full it was, but I can't find it. I assume it's enclosed towards the back of the trailer, but I thought there'd be a trap door somewhere to see it.

The fresh tank is usually over the axles. If the underbelly is enclosed, you'd have to make your own trap door. The lights on the control panel are not terribly accurate and are affected by how the coach is leveled. Sometimes the problem is that the tank isn't getting filled, other times it's the sensor accuracy. Some people have drained a "full" tank into buckets to measure how much water is available.

If these water and drain tank level indicators are not accurate, then why do they even bother putting them in our RV's?

Even more . . . why are they even made?
