New Rw 425 hit my bed rails

We just picked up our new road worrior 425 today, we have a 3500 srw short box and a 20k superglide. When backing into the driveway the pin box hit the the bed rails leaving a nasty dent. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong, it has to be able to clear.

Look at your hitch in the bed of the truck. It is possible you may be able to raise it 1 or two bolt holes up making the hitch box ride higher. i had to do that on the previous Landmark.

Thanks, I thought you could adjust the hieght of the hitch, but I'm looking thru the owner manual and no such luck. I have the underbed mounting system with it. Any ideas

It looks like your pinbox is as low as it can go. I would call PullRite and explain your situation, including pictures. They may have a suggestion or solution. Trace

I feel like yelling at the dealer.... for what I have found the make a 3" lift kit for the hitch, but then it lowers the rating to 18k, which isn't a problem. I was to mad to even bother looking at more when we got home. Maybe tomorrow I will call and see if there is any adjustment on the lappert 1621 hd pin box. It's a comment pin box I can't be the only person with this problem.

I had a similar problem. My truck is a short bed and my clearance was just under 5 inches but did not hit the rails but the nose of the trailer was low. I purchased two lift rails that fit between the hitch and regular rails that raise the hitch I believe 3 inches that bought the trailer nose up to level and gave be a 7 inch bed rail clearance. I have a Pullrite slider hitch.Don

After you do whatever needs to be done, you want the trailer to be riding nose level.

Chevy made there beds deeper so rail clearance has been an issue. Are you level right now? Dan is right level is the best if you can get there. Very nice rig-it looks fairly level in your picture. Good luck.

I just had that happen last week-end while practicing my backing skills (a topic for another thread). I was a little sharp on the turn and felt the bed lift a bit, luckily I had the rails from the tonneau cover on the top of the truck side, they got marked up, hit the pin box in almost the exact spot that yours did. Good luck with figuring out your problem, I will be following this thread with great interest. I do have a trail air pin box and I have read they can have there own issues. Sweet rig by the way.

I ordered the 3" lift kit from pullrite and have had no problems. I have gone on some very bad dirt roads and everything clear

Rkoyeti and 2ofus - Did you guy's measure the distance between your bedrails and the trailer? I'm curious because I think I'm going to have the same problem. The bed on my 2015 doesn't look much deeper then my 2008 but I forgot to measure the difference prior to trading the truck in. Hopefully I'll ha my hitch installed by next week - I can move the trailer pin down one hole and move the FW hitch up a hole, but I have an awful feeling I'm going to be really nose high.

I had the same issue/damage. A kit was offered but from 18 k it would be reduced to 16 k.
