First, let me say I LOVE my Chocolate full body paint, however, after three years of full timing in weather from below zero to above 100 degrees...the wear and tear takes a toll on the painted plastic, i.e., fenders and vinyl trim! Trying to replace the fenders and vinyl trim and have them painted to match was not an option...so, here are our solutions!
First, the fenders...they tend to crack at the screw points. The first pic shows the old cracked fender..the second, the new black, textured one, ordered from Heartland. They use this on the Bighorns...matches the black trim perfectly!
Second, the vinyl trim...first pic shows the original painted trim next to the new brown replacement. Trim and fenders are on rig when sent to paint shop...it tends to crack and make the trim shrink badly. The second pic shows the job partially done, and the third is the completed project..almost...need to use touch up paint to paint the hard plastic corner pieces to match. BTW, the brown trim is almost an exact match to the Chocolate paint on the coach.
The trim cost $23 including shipping..and no painting required...
