WagonMistress is perfectly fine with me. According to dictionary.com's definitions of being chauvinistic, I guess I could be classified as a chauvinist, also, then.

I will never lose my sense of humor, even when it's sometimes at my own expense!

Tracy warned me not to call you Assistant Wagonmistress even though that was my first choice. She said it might bug you, but I think it's cute ... and it's just chauvinistic enough to be the kind of thing I might say. (Oops, it's too dangerous to be a male chauvinist pig at a pig-pickin' in the NC mountains:eek:).

I'm thinking...

...we should have a recipe collection .pdf to share these great drink ideas.

Send me your recipes (or I'll just google the drink name, but might list the wrong ingredients) and I'll add it to the file for anyone who wants Luau Hoopla drink details.

HOOPLA!

You guys have really got me excited about this rally with all these posts!:D Now how am I going to get any work done Monday and Tuesday morning. (or the rest of today for that matter?)

Y'all really should try and concentrate on work instead of spending time on HL forum discussing camping trips.:D

Big time multi-tasking. I fear a work proposal for EPA may have a comment about camping it it!

Work from home day!!!

Did that yesterday:D

All work and no play makes Gus a dull boy:rolleyes:. See my comments in red above...

But Larry, then I would get everything done today and wouldn't have the privilege of working on "Work" stuff tomorrow and Sunday:D. Besides, my brain is fried right now. I'm close to erasing Ms-Project from my PC!

You should try being unemployed. No pressure and if you wipe out your hard drive-oh well, nothing important on it anyway.;)

Hoopla

If the Hoopla (Hoopla!) is at midnight, then at 11:00 who is going to dress up as Sunny/Kiki/[your favorite maid] and lead us all in the Hawaiian War Chant?

Terry,

You forget that some of us have seen what you have to do to park your rig at your house, you should be able to put it in a camp ground site with your eyes closed.

This is actually Disney trivia. It is a reference to the greatest bar ever. ... That carolinachrissy will not get to visit on her next trip to WDW. A bonehead threw out the baby with the bathwater when they decided to close PI (Pleasure Island). AC (The Adventurers Club) was axed in the process.

In fact our rig's license tag is "ADV CLUB" in memory of AC. During the Radiothon they'd encourage radio listeners to call 1-800-ADV-CLUB.

You are a serious Disney fan.:) You'll have to sell Sam on becoming one. He's marginally interested in this vacation and is doing it mostly for the girls. He sees it as a serious money pit :( from which he'll never recover his cash, or something like that. I'd love to go just with him and enjoy being a kid without kids, too.

Maybe we can plan a 2010 or later Camp Wilderness Rally. Being around other Disney fans would be great fun.:p

I've been asking for help in planning an itinerary for months and nothing has been planned other than campsite, tix and Quick dining. Guess we'll just chance whatever we do.

Oh well! It'll be fun anyway.:)

Firewood

I don't know where we'd get firewood near the rally. (Since fires are so restricted it would not surprise me if firewood is quite hard to find there.)

So if anyone who likes camp fires would bring some firewood for the beach bonfire that would be great. I was hoping to bring some wood myself but I probably won't have room.

Remember also that you can have a fire at your site if you use one of those mesh covered fire pits. I'm not sure how much we'll need for a beach bonfire (probably two fire pits going at once).

That reminds me ... if anyone has a spade/shovel for digging fire pits in the beach sand that would be great too.

Oh jeez, when we go to Fort Wilderness we usually camp for three weeks at a time, right up at the front (100 or 400 loop). We always have drinks and breakfasts at Trail's End and from those loops it is a trivial walk (or gold cart ride) to watch the Electric Water Parade. Of course we are passholders so we try to go twice a year to make best use of the passes and the discount that gets us at FW.

Last time we went was when they closed the Club. We did not stay for the very last two weeks (too much of a mad house). We just cannot bring ourselves to go back though knowing that we won't get to see Hathaway Browne in the Mask Room nor Samantha's Cabaret nor ... :-(

If you want to know anything about going to Disney you probably won't go wrong talking to me and Tracy about it.

BTW, when you said money pit, did you mean DVC or just going to FW?

Terry,

We are going to be there on Thursday and staying until Wednesday, The camp ground honored our coast to coast membership at $10.00 per night. Then we are going to Topsail Island for a couple of days then on to Willow Tree for the SC rally.

I have some - but not a lot. Enough for maybe 30 minutes. Do you know the NC regs on bringing in firewood from VA? There's a lot of restrictions right now due to Emerald Ash Borer issues.
