The one that was originally in ours was real dim. Put in a 921 and it works great... However it does get hot. My cover eventually had a hole melted through it.

I think it was on the Heartland Forum, but I saw a link to some photos to a place that you can store some photos.
I know about Photobucket, Shutterfly, & Kodak Gallery.
The one I am looking for showed you a number of photos and when you clicked on one it showed a larger view on te right. It...
I strongly sugges MIchelin XPS Ribs. They have the strongest side wall of any LT tire. If you do some searching you might find that Michelin XPS Rib tires have a very good reputation.
They are more expensive, but I would rather pay more for a great tire than less for a moderate tire that I...

Good luck on your trip to Alaska. I will be looking at this thread and your blog. You started from Gorton, NY and went into a small section of Canada then back into the US. Is that correct??
Also are you using the free version of wordpress??

Thanks for the information... I just saw the news on TV about the bridge. We are planning to go to Canada and come down south from Vancouver CAN.
I was wondering if it would be an advantage to get off I-5 at 20 and turn south on 536, or would it be best to just stay on I-5 and grin and bare...
Jim.. Just found this in the thread.. Sorry to hear that Bette was hurt in the accident. We all will miss you and Bette. Get her well soon and we will see you down the road.

BTW... Send me the Willie hat so we can keep the tradition going... LOL... God Bless. We will miss you..
When I bought my F250 it came with pirelli scorpion tires. They had a very soft tread and wore out quite quickly and I was not towing a trailer tha was a 29ft SOB.
I have always had great service out of Michelin tires.

Looks like a nice park. But I always wonder where they get the costs for their sites..
Full Hookups - $39
Water & Electric - $34
Country Roads
Motorhome & RV Park
$5 a night for sewer?? Some charge $5 a night from 30a to 50a. Few people will use $150 a month for sewer or electric bigger than...
Thanks Guys
I have disk brakes all around on the trailer and the truck.
I will keep this in mind. Wish there was a tool that I could measure the pad..
How thick is the material on the pad. 1/4" 3/8" ??? That would help also.. I guess I can go to a parts store and measure a set.
BC
I would like to check the break wear on both my trailer and truck. However, I really don't want to remove 8 tires to check how much pad I have left.
I went to an auto parts place to see if they have something that I use to measure the amount of pad remaining. Actully I don't know what the...
I took and refinished my trailer with ZEP which was discussed in a previous thread.
I think it looks great. Only cost me about $60. Took two days for me and my SIL. Did this in Dec last year and it is hold up very well so far. Bugs and dirt comes off easily. Black streaks are a bit harder..

I use an MBR1000 Router and either a verizon or Sprint aircard. This gives me an electronic firewall and a software firewall from TrenMicro.
I do not log on to the bank to pay my bills. I have all my bills paid to my credit card. I log into my credit card online and have them (only them) draft...
2 axle or 3
15" or 16"
I have had good luck with Michelin XPS Ribs 16". Not sure you will want them on a 3 axle. They are LT tires not ST.
I don't have a toy hauler. A 2008 BH 3400RE and I changed to 17.5" rims and G114 which are ST tires, smaller in size to the XPS, but carries more...
We plan to make the Alaska trip next year, but this year we are going to Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Vancouver then back into Washingto State.
It would be nice to see you post your trip on this or another thread.

This is the type of things I like to hear also. I believe Heartland is a great company and hope they continue to step up and take care of their customers.

Looks like a nice place.. But $74.95 for a seasonal site.... Doubt they will bring the price down where it is in my price range even for a rally.
We have been planning to go to Alaska for a number of years and have been looking very hard at going next year if things go right. Looks like we...
Re: 2013 Goshen Rally - Discussion Thread
We have had a previous event canceled so it looks like we are going to be arriving at Elkhat Campground on May, 17th. Will spend a month there to go to Goshen. Would like to meet up with any others that will be at Elkhart Campground.
Pat & I will...

I am getting use to BaseCamp. It is getting easier to use. I don't keep all my routes but I am trying to keep a clection of all the campgrounds I have stayed in so I can find a place to stay in each state. I also try to take photos of every campground I stay in so I know what they looked...

When you use the Dezl how do you make your route. Do you make it on your PC then upload it to the GPS or just do it on the GPS.
I have been using the 465t which is a trucker's version. I use it in auto mode for the same reason the truck version routes you way out of the way.
I just use...
Re: Reloading Class at the Nat. HOC Rally in Goshen?
lI have no experience in reloading. I have been planning on seeing my cousin in Oregon this year on the way back from Canada. He builds and reloads all of his firearms and he was going to show me how to reload.

I also am using a house water filter set of Westinghouse Canisters. Using a 5 micron sediment filter and a 2 micron charcoal filter for chlorine taste and odor. I carry two replacements and change them when they look bad or water flow gets bad. This works for us.
The canisters are rated at 100...
As I said above, go to a place that will make you a mattress. We drove to the Store, tried out a number of mattresses and gave the guy which one we liked, Firmness and such. Told him what size we wanted and that it was to be Natural Latex and we have had no problems and sleep well. If it isn't...
There is a number of threads about mattresses. We also changed out our mattress. Our chiropractor gave us some good information. Don't get a mattress with springs. Get a mattress that is made of natural latex foam, not other foam mattresses that have a lot of chemicals in them such as...
Man you really need to take in Montana... Some very beautiful country... Here are a few examples...

Horses at Custer's Battle Field

When I want to weigh my rig I pull up on the scales and tell them RV1 when they ask for a number. Then I drop the trailer drive back on the scales and tell them RV1 Reway. When I am done I go in and tell them I need my weights and pay for it. I never have gone in and asked if I can weigh. It use...

There are a number of fulltimers on this forum. DW and I have been fulltimers since 2007. Not as long as some but longer than others. I agree that the Landmark or Bighorn would be a good fulltime trailer. I don't know that much about the Big Country but it should fit the bill if...
There is no rule except what you want to indicate with the map. Others use it for their purposes.
I started to keep one but quit when I felt it didn't make a difference. I know where I have been and that is all I need...

Cloud 9 seems to be a good place, so does Catherine's Landing. There is about 9 campgrounds in the Hot Springs area. If you would go to RV Park Reviews you can see the reviews of others that have stayed there..
Here is a map of the area that might help you.
Hope this is helpful.

I think that Heartland stopped using the four step because they were having a problem with the 4 step breaking. Not 100% on that but it's what I remember..
BC
I had flex on the front also. Caulk was separating on the ODS. Heartland fixed it. The surface behind the pin box had rotted. Keep a close check on the caulking.
