2011 Chevy Duramax 2500 LTZ question

Before we bought our truck or trailer, my husband had long conversations with engineers at the factory (didn't hurt that he's a physicist). They told us - and the specs verified - the load we could pull without issue. We could have been at the outside limits when we were full-time, but we...

    2016 Bighorn 3270

Make sure you go over it with a fine tooth comb. Everyone who is selling any item says that the article is wonderful. Ask to see maintenance and repair records. If you can get the VIN, you can ask Heartland if they have any records. Good luck!

If you suspend the service, yes. They deduct a service charge monthly to keep your account in force. If we're just taking a couple of months break, it's worth it.

    Extended Warranties

Personally, we'd rather have insurance and never need it than need it and not have it. We pay monthly - more money in the long run but not a big lump cash outlay at one time. To each his own. Judge your needs and what you can tolerate for repairs. Don't rely on anyone else's opinions or...

Master Bedroom A/C kicking on and off

Not familiar with your layout, but ours was doing that especially on hot days. Found out that if we opened our closet doors and let the entire room cool down, the thermostat seemed to settle down. We also shut the door to speed up the cooling, it helped. Martha

ATF: Big Country - unreal let down

WOW. Well, our BH which we had special ordered had the kitchen cabinet colors changed - from a medium finish to a dark one. Our dealer told us that if we didn't like it we could refuse delivery. Did yours give you that option? Did the dealer explain the differences or just leave it to you to...

Ladies - I need some advice

Heaven knows that they can be intimidating to drive. We have a Bighorn 3670RL and when I first saw it I thought " Oh my goodness, what are we doing. This is huge and I don't think we should do this." But I'm so glad we didn't back out. I doubt that any dealer would do the test drive thing...

    New heartland owner

Do a good PDI - these trailers are made by humans and humans mess up. Don't let the dealer tell you that they have gone over the trailer and everything is perfect. It's not their money, it's yours. We videoed our walkthrough so everything was documented. Don't rush it. There's a great PDI...

Opinions on the Heartland BigHorn #3385 "King of the Mountain"

Our 2013 BH 3670RL is still going strong after many many days of use and miles. We make sure we do our routine maintenance and address any issues before they become big problems. We've not heard about a "slide falling off", but I'm sure that if it happened someone on this forum has information...

    Prowler TOO BIG! Seeking advice

Pull the trailer to an empty parking lot and practice backing into spaces. It's really not difficult to master. Just need to practice it. If I learned on a large bumper pull and again on our 5th wheel. Martha

    Holding Tank Sensor Alarm Question

When we ordered our 2013 BH in August 2012, we requested the stackable Splendides. Heartland prepped the trailer for them and the dealer installed them. Our cabinets have held up well.

    Holding Tank Sensor Alarm Question

Been our experience that the longer things made for frequent use (be it trailers, motorhomes, boats, cars, engines, appliances, etc), sit idle, the more parts don't work as intended when you begin using them again. Due to health issues, our trailer was only used for a couple of weeks last year...

Hydraulic fubar on a 2015 Big Horn

We auto retract, but we both also do a walk around before we depart - no matter if it's pouring rain, hot as blazes or snowing. That's our routines and 4 eyes are better than 2. Our experience has shown that sometimes the jacks don't retract fully consistently - and never have. During our...
