Good luck. We're in Myrtle Beach and trying to figure out where she's heading. Everyone stay safe. Irma looks nasty.

Should we be concerned with this scenerio?

Not only would we want a spectacular deal, we'd want written guarantees from not just the dealer but countersigned by Heartland. Dealers can say anything to get the deal done, but end of the day it'll be Heartland to do the work. Make sure they're 100% in agreement.

    We have a 2017 Bighorn.

We don't like recliners (I know, weird), so we removed them, found comfy arm chairs, hassocks for the boys (our spoiled dogs), took down the day/night blinds after the first string broke with the same type shades we have in our sunroom in the S&B, couple of lightweight "wicker" tables with glass...

    Bighorn Problems

We routinely check expendables such as the anode rod. Wheel bearings are also repacked as needed. How many miles have you put on your Big Horn?

    Extended Warranties

Insurance is based on elements of risk. The companies risk is that the consumer will need services that exceed the amount they pay for coverage. The consumers risk is that they will need services. Insurance companies are in business to make money - as are all businesses.

    Extended Warranties

There is a difference between a new trailer warranty and an extended warranty. We have had no problems getting things repaired in a timely manner with our extended warranty. The facility sends an estimate to the extended warranty company, they send a person to validate the estimated work, and...

    Extended Warranties

More than happy to - we had our washer repaired, inverter/converter replaced, level-up system repaired (including a leg replaced, hydraulic lines replaced and controller replaced), alignment repaired, slides repaired. I'm sure I've forgotten something. Our trailer doesn't sit in one place for...

    Extended Warranties

Our extended warranty didn't kick in until the manufacturer's warranty ran out. Having $5,000 in our pocket makes us happy campers.

    Extended Warranties

By our calculations, we've got at least $5,000 in our pocket that would have been spent on repairs. We're able to do most repairs ourselves, but we would rather have someone else expend their energy. We also get a guarantee that the work has been done correctly. Bottom line, your choice.

    Extended Warranties

Some will tell you that they're not worthwhile. However, we bought an EasyCare extended warranty when we purchased our BH in 2012 (and renewed it last year) which has covered close to $10,000 of repairs over the years.

1 Local Heartland dealer "can't" fix units not sold by them (so they claim)

We've had great success with independent repair shops. Call Heartland and tell them what is going on. You may be pleasantly surprised with their suggestions.

    Using auto level

Hi, Lynette. Use the auto level - yep, it'll freak you out at first when it goes through all its gyrations, but you'll get accustomed to what's normal and when you'll need to add blocks. It's my job to level it, so the index finger gets exercised (LOL). Have fun and enjoy! Martha

    Bath sink smells

We'd put baking soda and vinegar down the drain before we'd do bleach. Put a small box of baking soda into the drain and follow up with a cup or so of white vinegar. Let it foam and sit for 30 minutes to an hour and then pour lots of very hot water down the drain. If you have gunk in the sink...

Disappointed? Yes. Disgusted? Unfortunately yes as well.

Sounds to us like another case of a trailer sitting on a dealer's lot for years not maintained and when an unlucky person purchased, the dealer shifted blame.

    Dog won't rest while moving

Ours didn't have a problem, but our vet has been seeing ours for years and the Shihpoo was 2 when we started the Prozac. We'd tried all the natural and homeopathic remedies with no measurable success. He's no longer on the meds. Different animals do have different results, so we started with...

    Dog won't rest while moving

Ask your vet if Prozac would help. Our Shihpoo had separation anxiety - even when he was in his crate and could see me. The Prozac helped and now he's good without it. If he's created at home, consider crating in the truck during travel. Good luck!

    Crazy!!!!

Leaving the black tank open can result in the dreaded poop pyramid. We leave it closed and the gray tanks open. A day or so before moving, we close the gray tanks also so that we have soapy water to flush out the black tank.

    Crazy!!!!

The sensors we've had on our BH, on any of our boats and even on our clothes dryers have never registered properly. All it takes is a small piece of something to be in front of the sensor to throw it off. Just saying........

    Heartland warranty!

Perhaps we're jaded, but the dealer saying that they've sent pictures or described something and it was rejected reminds me of when someone tells me that "this won't hurt at all". If the dealer says that they sent pictures, tell them that you'd like a copy for your file and to reference when...
