    Awning Tie Downs

Sorry to be the one spoiler in the crowd, but at one of the rallies, we had a representative of Carefree there to talk about, along with other things, awning operation and care. He had some warning about staking awnings down, and had photos, of awning tracks being ripped away from the RV side...

New travel trailer most windows leaking

FWIW, we had a leak around one of our small bedroom windows in the slide out that I could not find. There was caulking around the window, but only about halfway down each side and across the top. I knew that they left the bottom open for possible condensation drainage so was hesitant about...

    Check trailer brake wiriing message

I had a similar problem with my 08 F450...couldn't seem to find reason for intermittent "trailer disconnected" message. Then, during routine service, tech noticed my "cyclops" stop light, (the extra one on back of cab) was out and he couldn't find wiring problem. When I related trailer wiring...

    Electric Cord Reel

I second the advice on making the cord straight on retraction to reduce the drag. I also "fold" the cord back towards the rig so the reel only has to pull 1/2 the weight of the cord, further reducing drag.

    Slide slides on out

Jerry, my DW showed me your first photo and I was equally shocked. However, on closer inspection, IMHO, I think the slide was intentionally rremoved for some reason. If you look closely, there is no damage to the slide where it contacts the ground on the lower corner closest to the...

    New Fuel 287 owner.

I have been using a Condor wheel chock for the last 7 years, we are full timers, without any problems, The "trailer" model is easily removable. It is nice to be able to ride the bike into the chock and then get off with the bike remaining standing on its own (as long as the floor is fairly level.)

    Sometimes my A/C short cycles.

Virgil, ours does the same thing occasionally. I believe it is a function of the A/C's "brain," used for energy conservation? Usually happens on very hot days when A/C is running for longer period of times. When temp at thermostat nears set point, within a degree or two, the A/C senses the...

'13 Landmark Grey Tank 1 sagging

Sorry if this is totally off the mark but with my "old eyes" I can't make out much detail on the pipe itself. Is this pipe ABS or metal? Since it seems to go out past the rig, could it be an exhaust pipe for a generator that is/was installed? I don't remember seeing any type fluid drain...

    newbie question

Glad you found it and, FYI, both my TV’s, LR and BR, have a strap near the edges of the screen that are used to snug them down while traveling. Maybe newer models are stouter and don’t need the extra support

    newbie question

Not sure of yours but, my small wall mounted TV in our bedroom has 3 “straps. Two of them are for travel and one, when pulled, releases the tv. I know there are many variations on the mounts so, good luck.

New to us TT, but found a crack!

I agree with that assumption. IMHO, something struck that area. While I don’t have any experience with cracks in my unit, from those who have had problems with cracks and posted them on this forum, structural cracks seem to originate from a joint or opening in the RV. This looks dented and...

Any big box store, Lowes, H.D., etc., should have replacement blades. You may not be able to get an exact match so you may have to buy all new. Be sure to measure how long yours are.

Bedroom slide seems to not extend all the way

Before I did any “adjusting” on the slide, I would check behind the fascia to make sure nothing had fallen down there to block slide from going all the way out or, for something like a screw hadn’t vibrated out to block it. On second thought, check on top of slide behind fascia also. I once...

    Leaking Jack

Have you tried tightening the hose connections at the top of the jack? I know you said you thought it was from “the lower seal”but, when I developed a leak, a quarter turn on the connectors stopped the leaking. Worth a shot, and cheap fix if that is the problem.

    2 electric heaters

We winter on our daughter’s property in coastal Mississippi, where we have our own 50A power supply. Since the weather is pretty mild, we tend to use space heaters most of the time and only occasionally fire up the furnace. We run the Fireplace, 1500 watt, and a 1500 watt space heater in the...

REPAIRED: Slide with broken gear tooth

Sorry Mike, I can’t answer your question because yours may be different than mine. My gears, all 4 of them, were 15 tooth but yours may be different. I can say that all my gears were the same, so if you can see one of them clearly enough to count, the other should be the same. The other...

    Slow retracting awnings

Jim, I have found that the ambient air temperature seems to affect my awning. Seems like, at times, something makes the fabric tighten up and then it rolls up somewhat slower. IIRC, it is slower the farther out it is, and increases speed as it gets closer to the rig.

Connected to shore power during generator usage

2Paws, you are correct to run your Genny every month or so and, when doing so, you want to place some load on the Genny to “exercise” it. However, IMHO, if you have the option, I would recommend unhooking from shore power before you apply generator power to the coach. At the very least, turn...

    Bedroom slide Bed plugs

Location of rear level up sensor

Marty, no I did not trace the wire. I believe the wire that comes from the rear sensor goes to the box in the front compartment with the front sensor. That is where the power from the coach is tied in to the Level Up system along with several other connections. The rear sensor is probably one...
