Jay when you can please give me a call on my cell. I would like to see if you would like someone from Camping World to come and talk about the new toys that have came out. There is some new Satellite that have came out with HD and internet and really cool alarm system that will text you when your RV temp get out of whack so all your pets will be ok or sound off if anyone trays to break in, and there easy to install and cheap. I love my toys so was thinking it might be cool to have there to show and talk about.
Joe, can you bring at least one of those Winegard Wingman add on antennas that attach to the existing bat wing? We would like to buy one.

Hello everyone

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update what Camping world has put together with Jay. First off as I’m sure many of you have seen already that your favorite Camping world employee will be joining you (ME). Ok just kidding but I will be there. Second I will be bringing a tech out for Friday and Saturday again please remember he will be limited in what he can do because of time, parts, and tools. We will do our best to get everything done that we can. I think with two days this time instead of one will make it a little bit easier. On Saturday I will also have a manager from Service joining me to talk to everyone about any needs, wants, complaints, or my favorite - at a boys. For Saturdays breakfast Ray and Heartland have agree to pay from the food and I have a professional chef coming to cook it for everyone. It should turn out to be a very nice breakfast. Also Saturday after breakfast I will have a manger from the Camping World retail parts, Accessories, and install coming in to set up a class on a few different things. They do plan on covering what they have seen going wrong with RVs in general and what to do to prevent things from happening. They also plan on going over TVs and what all you can do with the new air waves coming out. Also plan to show off some cool new toys as well. They are going to bring some of the most common things they sale with them so you don’t have to drive all the way to us (but I think you should still make the drive some time wink wink). I’m going to bring one Bighorn and a Landmark for me and someone else to stay in but not sure what floorplans yet. They will be open if anyone wants to look at them. There will be door prizes as always and lots of cups and hats.

I will see what else I can come up with between now and then.
Joe French

P.S.

Joe G. if your coming don’t forget I’m bring the Cowboys Vs Redskins checkers game

I'll be glad to work on next year's National rally in Houston. We would likely need to move it from Rayford Crossing, but it's very do-able here.

As much as I love Houston, the 2010 North American Heartland Owners Rally will not be there :( Sorry.

That said, not sure if anyone realizes it but the Houston rallies are now the same size as our 1st National Heartland Owners Rally in Goshen, Indiana in 2006 :)

I am not saying never, just not 2010 :)

Please email me with some CG suggestions for Houston area that can easily fit a rally of this size so I can start making notes.

I'll have to think about that one...with 100 rigs you will need a fairly large place to stay and room. Rayford Crossing could handle the rigs but it would take the whole park. Thousand Trails Lake Conroe could easily handle it but that is a private park, although it could be arranged. Lakeview RV Park in south Houston could handle the rigs but not sure about the meeting room. Also that on is in a bad neighborhood. Let me keep thinking. Gulf Coast in Beaumont could handle it and that is in an easy drive to the Louisiana Casinos. Let me thinks some more....

Great brainstorming Jim - thanks. You also bring up a good point - the building. We must be able to have a room that can easily accommodate 250-300. And air conditioned :)

Here are my thoughts on possible locations in Texas. The old Haven's Landing in Montgomery which is now a KOA is a prime location. They have plenty of room, rally halls, pools, hottubs, etc. but its a long way to anything from there.

I don't consider Lakeview RV Resort because of the "hood" that its located in.

Alamo Fiesta RV Resort in Boerne (pronounced bernie) is another to consider. They have over 200 full hookup sites, a good rally hall and are near San Antonio Texas for lots of activities.

The RV Ranch in Burleson is another to look at. They have over 200 sites available, rally hall(s) and near Fort Worth Texas.

Just a few to check out.

We've been to The RV Ranch, it's a quality place and they have a whole new area that the sites are set up like a wagon wheel. Camping World is a few minutes away too.;)

Jay,
We will see you in April; I just called and made my reservation. By the way how do you like that 3370?

Ray, we've stayed at the RV Ranch a few times with the Texas Boomers for their annual Labor Day rally there. It is a very nice place and pretty close to Fort Worth.

Joe, we love the new trailer, it's the best one we've ever owned. Except for a squeaky step, we've found no problems at all with this new rig. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Some friends of Jim and Sheila Gratz, David and Susan Gondron, sent me an email about attending the April rally, so I've added them to the list.

We've still got a couple of spaces left, so come on down!

Havens Landing would be big enough for a national rally. They are close to historical Montgomery Texas home of the Texas Flag and a bunch of antique shops, grocery stores, several decent restaurants and it is also not far from Conroe and Tomball (via back roads).
