What did you do to your camper today?

The past two days were spent scrubbing the rig. Magic Erasers are your friends, especially for getting old streaks off the windows.

Follow on: Bought a Magic Eraser floor mop and used it to clean the main awning. Got half from the roof and the lower half standing on a picnic table. The underside from the ground and a ladder. Cleanest it's been since it was installed.

Next time I clean the roof, I'll use it he mop on it. A test patch looked great.

Is that because of the air pump?

We have a sleep number at home, and after the novelty wore off we haven't touched the adjustment.

The instructions I received with our first Sleep Number bed said to adjust the setting to 20 (without weight on the bed) before travel, due to elevation change that could change the pressure inside the mattress. We do this every time we move.

Also, I air the bed to 100 daily after we get out of bed, since our settings are pretty low. If I don't air it up, the structure collapses too much when we sit near the edge of the bed. Then at night we get in and each set our sides back to our number.

That said, does the air pump have a power brick to supply power to the air pump? If so check the specs. It may just be a 12volt dc converter.

@Porthole,

Unfortunately, there is no "brick" in the power cord. It's internal if it has one and I think I would void the warranty if I opened the pump box.

@Travel Tiger,

Erika,
The UPS is better than any idea I had thought of. I like it!!! Or, I could quit being a tightwad and install an inverter for basic a/c stuff like I've been thinking I should. Any feedback on the sweet spot in size is between parasitic overhead vs. handling most short term a/c needs? We don't have any Electronics like satellite, etc. except TV and usually only watch a movie if were are running the genset to charge batteries.

Thanx Everybody,

WB

Yesterday it happened. I had scheduled to have Performance Trailer Braking install the disc brakes on my 3670RL while at the Goshen National Rally. But due to several different family matters we had to cancel our travels to the rally and other places. I contacted Ron and we exchanged e-mails and made arrangements to have the brakes installed at our home. Dennis Hageman of Son Chaser RV Specialist contacted me and we made the plans. He arrived at our house on Wednesday and I provided him with 50amp service for his Class A and parking so family could have cool air and Thursday he did the install and we road tested. Dennis is very good and through and rechecks everything. Talk about brakes.... I GOT BRAKES NOW!!! :)

I just got to say,,,if you need brakes or service,,, contact either one of the above folks.

Yesterday I buffed out the ODS of the CY due to scratches from some brush at my boondocking site of 4th of July weekend at Flaming Gorge, UT. It was worth it! We camped right on a big bay and even had 6 Big Horn Sheep watering and feeding across the creek from us for four days- a couple of hours at a time (Pictures attached-Margaritas and Sheep).

Today I recaulked the ODS flood light where the same brush un-caulked it. Also replaced some of the EK"D" moulding on the living room slide-sun rotted, replaced and sealed up a couple of bolts in the ramp door and caulked the edge where water may have been trying to get in, and replaced some of the edge plastic moulding on the bottom of the bedroom slide.

Now that the Allstate Insurance has paid for the Memorial Day Weekend tire blowout damage I kind of cleaned everything up and screwed things down so nothing would fall off until I have the damage repaired after camping/hunting/fishing season is done here (like November or so). If I took it in now I might get the CY back in 3 months.

Been busy today. Added an accumulator to my water system. As we've been dry camping more this year, we've grown tired of the pulsing and cycling of the water pump. It's rated at 3 gpm and the low flow fixtures are less than 2 gpm. Also added additional foam pipe insulation for vibration and noise reduction. Testing is satisfactory. We'll give it a good test in a few weeks at the Knoebels CG.

We are camping right now. I fixed the screen door, little rubber bumper fell off. Also tightened several other screws on the door. Cleaned the basement up a bit. Brisket on the smoker for supper.

Distilled vinegar is a great window and glass cleaner.

Speaking of vinegar as a glass cleaner. I have some drinking glasses, not expensive but nice, in the S & B that have always been washed in a dishwasher with softened water but have still become very cloudy. I soaked them in a bowl of distilled vinegar for several hours, but it did nothing to remove the cloudiness. Have also used the "Magic Erasers" on them with no success either. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Some new drinking glasses . . . :cool:

Actually, we were having this issue . . .

A new dishwasher solved our problem.

Of course, he is half my age and more slim and muscular than me, so Cathy was happy with our purchase! :p

Half your age, more slim and muscular than you, at first I thought you were talking about me, but then I remembered, I am really a few years older so it must have been someone else. I too have a new Asian dishwasher, name is Samsung.

I do have some CLR in the cabinet that I had forgotten about that I think I will try. If that fails I guess I can always swish some Fireball around in them, should eat it off.

Martha Stewart recommends rubbing the glasses with acetone (nail polish remover). Then vinegar. If that doesn't work the chances are that the dishwasher actually has etched them and there is nothing that can be done for that.

They say that Coke (a-cola) will eat the rust off of a chrome bumper . . . :rolleyes:

Maybe that would work . . . :confused:

I know for sure that any cola will eat out the bottom of a cast iron pipe. (With many years of exposure.)
