Some of the forum regulars know that I'm selling my 2007 Ford F550 truck with a Chariot Hauler Bed and replacing it with a 2012 Ford F450 with a Classy Chassis Hauler Bed.
I plan to use this thread to show build progress of the Classy Chassis conversion. The truck was ordered by phone/email by me with Tom Martin, President/Owner of Classy Chassis in January. New truck sales were very hot at that time and when Ford gave Tom a build date, he gave me a March 26 arrival date at his shop. The truck arrived last week, a couple days early.
What appears below are the first set of pictures of the truck. Note that Tom ordered the truck as a full pickup, with a bed. He removes the bed, strips it of certain components for reuse on the hauler bed and he sells the bed and other unused components. The recaptured value of the sold bed and components are factored into the cost of the hauler bed.
Tom started the bed ahead of the arrival of the truck in order to shorten the 6 to 8 week build cycle a bit.
If you have any questions about this build, please post them in this thread and I will do my best to answer them.
