Is the Big Country frame up to the task of double towing?

One thing to keep in mind, by adding weight to the rear of the trailer, you will be removing weight from the tongue/pin. This is a simple teeter totter effect, with the axles being the fulcrum, ( pivot point ). If the axles were centered between the pin and rear bumper, when you add 300lbs to...

    Power fluctuations

The converter is operating properly. You have exceeded the output of the convertor. What you are experiencing is circuit overload. On then off, on then off. That is a circuit breaker tripping and resetting. Depending on the size of the convertor, it is possible to have enough stuff on to...

New to 12V DC and have a question.

Without a disconnect, the parasitic draw is greater than the output of the battery tenders. In other words, the tenders cannot keep up and the parasitic draws win. If you have power to plug the battery tender in, you should be plugging the coach in instead.

A good curtain will help insulate it from the living space. We noticed, if you just lower the shade, helps tremendously.

    Draft from couch area

Cold air falling from the window. Happens with all windows, even dual pane, worse with single. Windows offer little to no insulation.

    Water during freezing temps

The fresh water tank is most likely above the rear axle. The drain you mention is in the tank to pump feed line. The drain is where you are frozen. It freezes in the drain and up into the feed line. I pushed my drain up into the skin, held it there with tape and sprayed expanding foam in...

    Frozen Batteries

Do not attempt charging them!! They can and will explode. Replace them. It is not worth having an injury or fire. They will never be safe. If you do get them to charge, the plates have been altered from the expanding ice. They will not perform as they should and will fail shortly.

    Ice maker Question

I installed a Reverse Osmosis drinking system in ours. There is a hidden space under the kitchen sink in our Landmark that I hid it in. Then ran a water line to the faucet on the sink and to the ice maker in the fridge. It will make a gallon of water in no time. A lot less weight than...

    HOT Switch in livingroom

Amp draw too high for the switch. Also, the crimp and/or the spade connection is loose. Loose connections cause resistance, resistance cause the amp draw to go up, the increased resistance/draw builds heat. Replace the switch with one that has at least a 20 amp capacity, and replace the ends...

does any one know what this is for? 3650bh

If it is the vent for the fresh water tank, most likely is, the fitting needs to be pointing down. That way it won't catch dirt and anything else that could find its way in your freshwater.

    satellite install question/ help needed

Is it a dual tuner receiver?? If so, move the cable from output 1 to output 2. The 2nd tuner is controlled by a RF signal remote, while the 1st tuner is a IR signal. If it is a single tuner, you can purchase a signal repeater to control it. You point the remote at the transmitter and it...

    How Cold Can You Go

Under the slide on the outside, there is a single lip seal that is screwed in with a metal strip. I have taken it loose and repositioned it to seal properly. Then inside, I use foam pipe insulation stuffed under the edge of the slide, this stops the drafts. Also, we found that if you leave...

    How Cold Can You Go

We wintered in our Landmark last winter while building the new house. We experienced a low of 17* with highs in the mid 20*. Never turned on the gas furnace. What to pay for exterior cleaning and wax job

I had light oxidation on the front cap, they polished it out nicely. They also washed the roof. Trailer batteries are not charging from my vehicle.

Depending on how low your batteries are in the trailer, you may not get a good charge out of the truck. The truck is usually limited to only 30 amps, and the wire is a long run and only 10 gauge if you're lucky, or smaller. Plugging the trailer into shore power is the best way to charge your...

Solar Power Beacon Globe light for Flag Pole

While not solar, I bought a LED low voltage landscape spot light, made a mount out of PVC fittings that slide over the flag pole and sit on the pole holder, made up a little box that I plug the trailer light cord into and the pole lite, and have a reliable light on Old Glory.

    Rewire Brakes

It is real simple, really! Since you want to rewire it from the front, find the blue wire in you trailer plug, this is the hot wire for the brakes. Look for the white wire, this is the ground for the whole coach. Run 2 wires to the front wheel on both sides, I used 10 gauge, one blue and one...

    pin box upgrade

You don't mention the bed length of your truck. A short bed will tend to give you a rougher ride if the fifth wheel is mounted over or behind the axle. I have the Trail-Air on our Landmark, with the hitch 2" ahead of the axle, I have a very good ride and would not hesitate to go with the...

Help required on. rear end axle ratio choice

I have owned an 08 Quad cab long bed with the 3.73 axles and 2010 Crew cab long bed with 4.10 axles. I prefer the 4.10's, while there is no real measurable difference in mileage, it does tow better, especially in the mountains, maintains speed better without shifting as much. My 2014 will have...

    Harrison, Arkansas campgrounds

Re: Harrison,Arkansas campgrounds There is only one that I know of, it is on the west side of Harrison on 62. I don't remember the name, but my dad stayed there when he broke down just west of there. We live an hour away from it, it does seem to be a nice park.
