    My tire decision...

Well, I got my new G rated 14 ply tires installed today. The Sailuns S637s are very thick and heavy compared to the TowMasters. Honesty, I was really surprised at how flimsy and light the TowMaster tires were. Glad those turds are off my Big Country. Hopefully the Sailuns will serve...

Thanks Jim. I appreciate the explanation. I am not a cold weather camper so the thought of the LPD causing an issue never occurred to me. Fully understood now. Regards, Chris

    My tire decision...

My 2015 Big Country came with the POC "piece of **" Tow Master tires. I decided to go with the Sailun S637 G Rated tires. Throw rocks if you may, but my research indicates these tires (while made in China) are not the typical "China-bombs" and have received great reviews on various RV...

How bad did I screw up...

Re: CRAP - how bad did I screw up... Thanks everyone for the input. I got home earlier today and went straight to the camper with my air compressor. I don't believe that any damage was caused as my lines held the 30 PSI no problem. I was amazed at the amount of water that came out of the...

How bad did I screw up...

Well, I have been out of town on business for a few days. After I left town the news reported that it was going to get near freezing in Austin, Texas. My wife told me this morning that it was 32 degrees at our house this morning. I have not winterized the new Big Country. Since there are no...

Hello all. I am a meticulous planner for our RV trips. I probably over do it but that is the "engineer" in me. <Grin> Seriously, what tools, websites, procedures, forms, etc. do you use for planning your trips? Just curious as to what other do, how they do it and why they do it...

SOLVED: 2015 Big Country - no DC power

First and foremost this problem should have been caught in the factory. The fact that it happened proves that the there is a hole in the Heartland post build testing process in the factory. If the fridge was tested on 12 volt power from the inverter, this would have been found immediately...

SOLVED: 2015 Big Country - no DC power

Re: 2015 Big Country - no volt power FINAL update on this.... Friday of last week, I drove down to ExploreUSA in Kyle, Texas to pick up the Big Country as the inverter had been swapped out. Upon arrival, one of the service managers took me to the unit so we could test it and see the fridge...

What did you do to your camper today?

Returned from our first trip in the new Big Country yesterday afternoon. It was just a short weekender, but a great "shake down" trip to get us ready for our annual Thanksgiving trip to Garner State Park in November. Found a few small things that need to be fixed, but overall the new BC worked...

Howdy. We are contemplating a trip to the Black Hills area of South Dakota in July next year. We would prefer to stay in Custer or Rapid City (or somewhere in between). Any suggestions on a nice place to stay that will accommodate my big rig and has full hookups? Also any suggestions on...

SOLVED: 2015 Big Country - no DC power

You are correct Mike. The camper was shipped in a "defective" state as the configuration of the existing inverter and residential fridge never worked and never would have worked. Very poor QA by Heartland. Furthermore if this is a know problem why did Heartland not tell the dealers to purge...

SOLVED: 2015 Big Country - no DC power

Thanks for the additional info on the inverter recall Dane. I can't comment on the diagnosis they dealer performed only what they told me.... As to the 12.85 volts, that was measured without shore power and it is my understanding that is normal. -Chris

SOLVED: 2015 Big Country - no DC power

La Hacienda RV Resort in Austin, TX

I have a strange 12 volt power problem in my brand new 2015 Big Country 3650RL None of the 12 volt lights work when running off battery. If I plug into shore power, they work. When running on battery, I can't even get a battery status from the control inside the coach. Same is true when the...
