Bought a second home so the trailer and truck are for sale.
2012 Heartland Bighorn Silverado 30RL. Stored inside and pretty much like new. Awnings over slides. New Kodiac disc brakes. Dexter upgraded shackle kit. 110 PSI wheels with Goodyear G614 tires. Tire monitoring system. Two spares tires...
Some of the electric over hydraulic actuators require an add on unit for some model brake controllers. Check website of brand actuator you have to see if it is compatible with your truck.
I installed them and still use my caps. Did require some fab work, but turned out good. I like the air being balanced between the two tires and I air down when not towing and back up when towing.
Have had both. While the SRW truck handled OK, the DRW handles fantastic. No question that the DRW is a safer tv. I believe you will regret downgrading to a SRW.
To be clear bottom line is just that. Includes everything, even taxes. That is the only way to compare cost that matters to me.
I guess my example was a little too simple. Trying to make the point that sometimes buyers get hung up on wrong issue.
And this is the only figure that matters. Makes no difference how the dealer gets to that number.
If dealer A is 10000 for the unit with no charge PDI and Dealer B is 9500 plus 300 for PDI, who has the better deal?
It is weather resistant. I am making a fiberglass shield to keep the worst of road grime off of it. I figured it was better to run electrical to it rather than have 20 feet of brake line if mounted in front of trailer.. Still bumped up to 1/4 inch line to reduce lag time when braking.
At the...
Copied off of Ford website introducing the 2017 Super Duty

I went with the crossfires. They work with 10 psi up or down from factory preset. I went with 60 psi and run the recommended 65 loaded and 52 empty. I like the auto equalizing of pressure between the two tires.
75 in front and 65 in rear gives a GVWR of 14000 lbs with a 5663 lb useful load. At 65 psi in rear the rear GAWR is 9659 lbs. Tires will take higher PSI but not needed to get to trucks GVWR. As said with 65 PSI with truck unloaded only the center 3 to 4 inches of each rear tire is in contact...
Valve is preset with a pressure value. 10 lbs below that value and check valve stops flow out. I bought 60 lb valves as my max is 65 lbs and unloaded I can air down to 52 or so and still have balancing between two. Valve also has a window with changing colors to visually see range pressure is...
As the title I installed Crossfire Tire Equalizers on my DRW truck this weekend. So now I can adjust each pair of rear tire pressures from unloaded to towing with one valve on each side. Other benefit is that each pair has exactly the same pressure in each tire. Also added Centramatic balancers...
Those are some great numbers some of you are posting. I drive like an old lady and almost never over 65. With 2013 6.7, SRW, 3.31 gears avg about 16.5 and with DRW 3.73 about 14.5. 75 percent HWY. Towing both do same at 11.5.
Not bad, but you do hear it above 50mph.

Probably would be more than most would want to spend considering the time involved. It is a really well made rack. Doesn't show up in pictures, but there are a lot of machined parts as well as the bending and welding.

Installed a three way switch with plug in line running to bedroom AC so that I can run a power cord to 110 outlet on pole when 50 Amp service not available. Will have ability to run both AC units. One on 30 amp service and bedroom AC only on the 110 15 amp plug. When 50 amp service is available...
Finished up my rack to carry my Hobie Pro Angler. Since this kayak weighs 140 lbs I made the front fold down a little to get back of kayak started and then push it up onto rack from front of truck. Cross bars have PVC rollers. All aluminum and removes from truck with two quick pins and two bolts.
I had a 2003 F350 dually years ago. Then 2 more 350 SRW trucks before the F250. Thought I wouldn't need more truck than that. Lesson learned Agree about towing with a dually.
Recently purchased a Heartland Silverado. Had a 2013 F250 with airbags. Towed fine, but was a little over max load on truck. Made a deal for a new F350 DRW today. Now have room to upgrade if desired someday.
I have a Hobie Pro Angler 14. Recently sold toy hauler and bought a fifth wheel. Going to make a rack this weekend to load Hobie on truck. mounting rack to tow hooks and forward stake holes in bed.
ST tires won't even stay together going straight down the road at 60 MPH. Look at all the failures reported here. How many tires blowing out on the TV's?
BTW my GY 614's are LT tires.
Added second motor and switch to landing gear. Now I can adjust legs independent of each other for leveling. Sourced some used parts off of Ebay. Total cost of $90.
Correct. My research has turned up Auto Flex and Trailer Flex out of Canada. There is a sticky on here from 2011 with a Lippert install ,but no current info. Was curious if anyone had air suspension without leaf springs. Seems like a very good way to go.
