Have an Oakmont with a slide that only will allow the right side to come in as the left gear wont turn. Im assuming the bolt sheared disallowing the shaft to turn to drive the teeth on the other end. Is there a way to get this in? Is it brute force? Once in can it come back out?

Yea, I started there. Problem is that neither address as to how to correct the finish that came from the Acetone. It's a discolored blotch that won't rub out. Don't want to use steel wool or sandpaper.

Yep. Did that twice. That drip left a tale-tell sign of heavy dampness around the connection which when I took a pair of water pumps to it after putting new rubbers in it, took care of it. This time, none of that. Just a damp carpet which makes me think maybe behind the panel?
