As Michael stated above, we toured the Heartland plant on Tuesday. The tour (done by Scott) itself was great but what made it extra special was that Tom joined us at the end and explained to the group about the new LM365 Newport and his visions for it. Then he took us (a group of 7) inside, had us sit down and he showed us all of the improvements and additions. Not much in the way of changes to the actual construction but more in the frills department.
Solid maple drawers - sides AND bottoms
A bank of drawers in the island that can be accessed from BOTH sides of the island
An induction cooktop
Residential refrigerator
A little cubby in the coach side table that holds a small step stool to aid in reaching those out of reach places
A door that can be used for pots and pans or dishes. It has movable pegs to fit your dishes so they don't move during travel
A pop up outlet in the buffet
Improved day/night shades
Louvered doors on the entertainment center to help keep your electronics cooled down
A panel that opens on the back side of the island for easy access to your plumbing
A built in space in the island to hold 2 garbage cans (contemplating changing this)
A possible option to opt out of the second bath and have a pantry/office instead
'Mood' lighting above the bed
Bedroom TV that is hidden behind a mirror
Bedding that is monogrammed with an 'LM'
Rope lights attached to the outside awning
A lighted sign with Family name or 'Welcome' mounted on the side of the coach
A small cabinet to store your sink and stove top covers
Sink top covers that have cutting boards on the underside
I tried to remember as many of the 'frills' as I could....I'm sure I've missed several. However, I hope you get the idea. These 'little things' can be big things if you're living full time in a coach. Some people are ok with little to know frills but I think many of us want the extra conveniences and 'pretties' that make a house a home.
Frankly, with the way the Landmark was at a stand still, Michael and I weren't sure we'd buy another Landmark if/when our Key Largo needed replacing. We kept seeing how the Big Horn was rapidly becoming a Landmark and couldn't see why you'd pay the extra $$ for a Landmark. Tom and his visions have restored our faith in the Landmark and we're thankful. I, once again, have NO doubt that if/when we replace our Key Largo it will be with a LM365.
