    Replacement for Atwood Model 100867

I checked for them too. No dice. I suspect they aren't being made anymore.

I looked. Neither are in stock. Bummer! The listings are on the site, but no "Cart" buttons.

    Replacement for Atwood Model 100867

It appears that all Atwood propane detectors are unavailable. Maybe they went out of business. I ordered a Briidea detector from Amazon. It probably won't fit and I'll have to improvise.

Can you explain where to apply it?

    LR/Kitchen slide lubrication

I'd like to lube our living room and kitchen slides. The living room slide stuck at the top last time out. The same slide had been squeaking and making quite a bit of noise when it went in and out. I bought a can of slide lube. I'm not sure where to put it (no wise cracks!). Can you help. Bob

Re: Bighorn. NAME Actually, no. General Motors makes Chevy just as Heartland makes Bighorn.

    Bighorn NAME (Traveler)

Re: Bighorn. NAME My two cents: First of all, people who are buying a $50K trailer are not so stupid that they will be duped into thinking one model is the same as others. Consider Chevy. They make the Corvette (called a "Chevy Corvette") and the Spark ("Chevy Spark"). No one expects a Spark to...

    Ferry Ate Our Bighorn

Last Thursday we took the Keller Ferry across the Columbia river. It's a small boat that can hold a semi. We've taken it several times before on our way to Curlew Lake state park. Unknown to us, at the time, a new deckhand had us load onto a side lane (thee are 3 lanes). This is one of those...

EVENT: Heartland Chapter Rally: OR, Silverton - 7/29/2016 to 7/31/2016

Kim and I have to cancel. Sorry to do it so late. I've come down with something. Been in bed since Tuesday. I called the park and they said they have someone on the club waitlist who they will call. We'll miss all the fun. Thanks, Bob

Losing the weatherstripping on the slides (again)

We took our first trip this past week. We discovered that the "D" weatherstripping on the livingroom slide is gone! The "D" weatherstripping on the kitchen slide is hanging half off. The vertical weatherstripping on the livingroom slide is dropping down. This isn't the first time this happened...

I used to champion Heartland Service... now having doubts

I know that this forum is filled with Heartland apologists. I'm not one of them. My 2014 Bighorn had almost 30 issues which, eventually Heartland fixed. Most of my problems were with the dealer's slow schedule. Now we are starting our third season with our Bighorn. The good news The quality of...

    Nitrogen Tire Inflation

I would normally stay out of this, but frankly this is one of those topics driven by myth. As previously stated, air is 80% nitrogen. So, if you are a nitrogen fan, you get 80% free. Oxygen, the other main component of air, is no more likely to leak out of a tire than nitrogen. The atomic weight...

Extremely Concerned about Heartland Customer Service

Just a quick aside. There is a general RV forum (can't remember the URL) that has a Camping World section with an "Issues" subsection. I was getting the runaround from my local CW about honoring a price match and a fixed install price for my satellite dish. I complained on the forum and got a...

Sick of Heartland Big Horn! Worst purchase we have ever made

It doesn't???? Wow, you didn't order any options. Actually, my tow vehicle has plumbing for flammable fuel, oil, coolant, air conditioning gas/liquid, windshield washer fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid and lots of other things that if they break the way Heartland...

Sick of Heartland Big Horn! Worst purchase we have ever made

Both of our Dometic AC's failed too. They were replaced by our dealer without further ado. Unlike the cheerleaders you often find on forums like this, I share your concerns about Heartland build quality. I am happy to say that after a very long list of repairs the first year, things have settled...

    Buying Bighorn 3970RD

It might be optimistic to assume you will find all the issues that need correction in just a day or two. It is also unusual for dealers to fix all issues right away. Even if they have free techs, parts need to be ordered. We have a 2,000 watt generator we have used just once. We don't dry camp...

Is Fife RV back as a dealer

I got an email about the new Bighorn today. For fun, I searched for dealers near my home in western Washington. Fife RV came up on the Heartland site. Has Fife been reinstated? They only show one 2015 Bighorn in their new trailer inventory. What's the story? Thanks, Bob

No more Bighorn dealers within 200 miles of SEATTLE! Where to get service

Seattle is the 15th largest city in the United States. There are no Bighorn dealers anywhere close. Theire's one in Portland OR (a MUCH smaller city) which is over 150 miles away. I need to get bearing service before we travel this year. We also have to get the microwave/convection install...

    Satellite connections???

have you tried running coax through the window directly from the signal source to the LR TV? That would rule out any problem other than the cable.

    Satellite connections???

I have a 2014 BH. There are 2 sat cables in the UDC: One for the BR and one for LR. There are two cables going to the roof as well. I have my Trav'ler and multiswitch on the roof. It attaches to the two cables to the UDC. We have a jumper in each outlet pair from the roof to the appropriate room...

    Anderson valve trouble

I replaced our Anderson valve last fall. It's very easy to do. It took about 15 minutes with a phillips screwdriver and a channel lock pliers. The connections are really just hand-tight, just needed the pliers to encourage a couple to open. One thing I learned is that once you connect the valve...

Re: Slides won't work (both electrical and hydraulic) Thanks Dan. I will have to wait until the weekend to check this out. It gets dark too early to do it after work. Why would the breaker pop? There was no load on the battery. The trailer is just sitting on our side lawn with AC power...

SOLVED: Slides won't work (both electrical and hydraulic)

Yesterday, we went out to check on our 3160. All was dry and the power was connected (AC). However, when I tried to extend either slide, the switches did nothing. Since the bedroom slide is electric and the livingroom/kitchen slides are hydraulic, the problem has to be electrical (I think). I...

EVENT: Heartland Chapter Rally: OR, Silverton - 7/29/2016 to 7/31/2016

We were camping at Goldendale WA the end of Aug and drove the 100 miles each way to bring back a couple of dozen Voodoo doughnuts. If you are going to the rally, a trip to Portland for these is worth it! (maybe we can organize a run). Of course, there is always a line outside the store.

How much air pressure should I use to blow out the pipes?

There's low point drain under our 2014 BH 3160 centered just behind the rear leveling jack. - - - Updated - - - Our dealer (last year) and us this year just blow out the lines and put antifreeze in the drains. No need for antifreeze in the water lines. If you blow them out, not enough water...

ATF: Bighorn - Desk won't "Catch" / Some awning lights won't go on

We removed the desk and noticed the latch on the cabinet has a pivot that when the desk closes, holds it in. Kim rotated each latch out and then we tried again and they worked.
