    Thoughts on using Eternabond

Hi all. Hope everyone is excited about gearing up for camping season! I have a question regarding Eternabond. The caulk located on the rear side corners of my 5th wheel keeps opening up. It happens where the fiberglass meets the vertical metal stripping. I have caulked the area probably 5 times...

Slide moved out on its own?

So, I have my 5th wheel (Elkridge 37 Ultimate) stored on a lot when not in use. During the Winter I go once a week and do a drive by to have a look and make sure everything is OK. Yesterday I noticed the bedroom slide was out about 6 inches. All other slides were in fully. I went home to get...

    Dodge Ram Recall

That's good to know. I was worried about long term engine damage. Guess I shut it down in time. Once they figure out the fix I will probably have to take the truck in for another replacement.

    Dodge Ram Recall

I have a 2013 Ram 3500 DRW. This notice came out last Wednesday. The previous Friday, while pulling my fifth wheel, we had our water pump go out on I95 near Fayetteville NC. Luckily we were only 20 minutes from home. The low coolant light came on and less than a mile later the water pump...

    What's Up With My Tires???

I have an Elkridge 37 Ultimate that came with the same rims you have. I immediately changed from TowMax to Sailun S637 (110 psi) and so far have been very please with the tires. I am in my 4th season with them and take between 14-18 trips per season.

    Factory aluminum rims cracking

The 4 replacement rims I got from Tredit had the new "flute" design. Obviously they realized the old design had failure issues.

    Factory aluminum rims cracking

I have included a link to the Tredit warranty web page. You will need pictures of the rim overall and the rim cracks. Also, you will need several pieces of information like a copy of the original bill of sale, tire size, tire weight rating, tire psi, rim serial number, rim dot rating, rim sae...

    Factory aluminum rims cracking

Great news, Tredit has agreed to ship me 3 new rims giving me a complete set of 4. That means they are going to cover the one that I had repaired also. Though they said the warranty was void on that one. I have included pictures of one of my rims. The 3 rims cracked at the same stress point...

    Factory aluminum rims cracking

The picture I used is not of my tires and rims. It was just one that I found online at the time. But, yes, I was concerned about the Towmax tires when I purchased my Elkridge. I litterally drove the rig home and the next day took it to my local tire store and traded the blowmax's for Sailuns.

    Factory aluminum rims cracking

This past weekend I had another rim crack. That's 2 in a month. I have started another claim with Tredit. I have also asked them if they would consider replacing the other 2 rims aswell. One of those I paid to have it repaired a couple of years ago when I did not know Tredit had a warranty. They...

    Factory aluminum rims cracking

I wanted to give an update. Yesterday I called Tredit and spoke with a lady in the warranty department who told me what info they needed. I got all the info from the inside side of the rim, bill of sale and pictures of the crack. This morning I went to their website and entered the info and...

    Factory aluminum rims cracking

I have a 2014 Elkridge 37 Ultimate. After having my 5th wheel for a year I noticed a tire that kept losing about 10 pounds of air a month. I had it inspected and found there was a hairline crack. I had it welded and since 2015 have had no problems with that rim. This past Wednesday I checked...

    Back to the drawing board

OK, I got up on the roof and removed the fiberglass cover and the Styrofoam one as well. I do not see where I have an additional set of mounting holes on the front or the back. I believe the unit I have is a Brisk Air II. I called heartland and they do not have any other suggestions. Can...

    Back to the drawing board

I just read from another thread that NHCelt sealed the unused A/C mounting holes with caulk and that stopped the leak. This weekend I will get on the roof and take the shroud off both my units to see if I need to caulk the holes.

    Back to the drawing board

Hello fellow campers. I have a 2014 Elkridge with the optional front Dometic A/C. During the second season I noticed that when it rains, and the unit is running, a tremendous amount of water gets sucked in. If I shut the unit off it stops. At no other time does water get inside unless it is...

Thanks for your suggestions. I have never used air to blow out the lines. Does anyone have a link to a page that would give details on how to do it? Thanks

    Using camper during cooler weather

Needing some input from my fellow Heartlanders. I live in North Carolina and have always winterized my RV's around the first of November. We usually have temps below freezing some nights from then through mid March. Many people use their campers for the Thanksgiving holiday and New Year's. I...

    Myrtle Beach heat!

Same thing for me as OP. I was in Myrtle Beach this past weekend. Bedroom A/C no problem. However, the duct ed unit struggles to keep the temps cool. Once the sun goes down the RV quickly cools down.

    A/C leaking during rain

I need some help. The front A/C in my Elkridge 37 Ultimate leaks only when it rains. This is the third season I have had the fifth wheel and it has done it each season. The first year I tried tightening the bolts to compress the gasket. Last year I had the gasket replaced. Nothing has worked. I...

Best Heartland Bunkhouse for my Rig

Just don't make the same mistake I did. With our first camper, I tried to find a TT that would work with my tow vehicle (Chevy Suburban). We purchased a Passport 3650BH. After the first night I looked at my wife and said "this camper is going to get small really quickly". The next year I...

First practice trip with the Bighorn

Sounds like you speak from experience. Also, don't forget to check all your faucets before turning the water on to your RV. I usually have them open as I slowly turn the water on at the spigot to prevent a water hammer / pressure issue for the camper plumbing. Once, when I didn't check before...

For those who own toy haulers

Nice plane. The guys I flew with used Saito 4 stroke engines in theirs. A quiet electric would be even better. I mostly flew 50cc to 120cc aerobatics like Extra's and Yak's.

    ProFlex RV Sealant

Hello everyone, I am looking for some guidance from my fellow Heartlanders. I have been using ProFlex sealant as a caulk for the exterior of my Elkridge over the past year. I have been having a problem with it not staying adhered to the RV. It only lasts a few months. Based on online reviews...

    AC not working - 2014 Elkridge E30

Just in case I have another unit bite the dust, is there a different brand to replace Dometic with that might be better? Maybe a different Dometic model? Are all the connections pretty standard throughout the industry?

    AC not working - 2014 Elkridge E30

I have a 2014 Elkridge 37 Ultimate purchased new in 2014. The first season we had no AC problems. Last year the main AC unit would not cool the trailer. I tried everything I could do myself from a new thermostat to making sure the cold air was not getting back into the return and causing a...

    Pullrite hitch question

I have read in the manual for my Pullrite 18K fifth wheel hitch that routine maintenance is needed. The job requires some dis assembly of the hitch. I have read the instructions and could probably figure it out on my own. I'm just a little nervous as the hitch is the only thing keeping the...

    Not sure how to feel

Had the first one for only 1 year with no issues. I know 1 year is not a good judge of how worry free a camper will be. But, I have only had this one for 2 years. Again, no brand bashing, just calling it like I see it. We will consider a Heartland next time as well.

    Not sure how to feel

My wife and I purchased an Elkridge 37 Ultimate new back in 2014. It is our second camper. Over the past 2 seasons we have had continual problems. Not all of it was Heartland's fault. So, no brand bashing and no hard feelings. The entire 2014 season I was constantly fixing something myself. A...

    Elkridge Camp Kitchen - Sink

Not to hijack the thread, but, has anyone had problems with the 3 overhead storage cabinet doors? We have a 2014 37 Ultimate. The compression arms that keep the doors lifted up kept pushing the doors and the hinges apart. I finally removed the arms and now have to hold the doors up myself to...
