We have had our 4100 with the rear patio and three seasons rear door for three years. We stay in it around 150 nights per year. I think we have the rear patio door down about 85% of the time, rain or shine. Close it for cold (20s) or very strong wind thunderstorms. No problems in the three...
I had several failed tires with the towmax. Since I also have 3 6000 lb axels I decided that LT tires might do the trick. At about $160 each they certainly where a reasonable cost option. After about 6000 miles and no troubles I am very happy with my Firestone transforce tires. They are...
One advantage of buying new is you can order it the way you want it. Most dealers charge no more for an ordered one than a new one off the lot. Of course if you find what you want on the lot then that is great because there are no surprises from mid year changes in products. Sometimes you...
I always check on my phone USPS app to find post offices close by. It list services they provide and hours. General Delivery will be listed if they accept it. This year we did have one package of prescriptions hung up for 5 extra days in Jacksonville FL for no apparent reason. It was first...
I just used some wafer board plywood and painted both sides and the edges with several coats then caulked it good when I put it in. It has been three years and I have ran in plenty of rain. No problems.
Whatever hitch you put into the receiver should have a capacity rating so go by that. I think they do vary so you might need to look around. Your receiver also will have a rating so that will give you guidance
Mine is a 13 model so could yours could be different. I removed mine by reclining them and then removing the bolts that hold each on to a rail that is screwedto the floor. Screws have to be removed or loosened if you want to take bolts out after you have lifted off the recliner. End arm rest...
I also put talcum powder on the caulk wher is comes out. Still coming out to some extent after 3 seasons but the talcum reduces the smears on the slides.
I am pretty sure both manufacturers of awnings have approved tying down. In any case over the past 6 years I have tied mine down most of the time. I had had campers with both brands of awning. I do agree that in very high winds or a storm that they need to be brought in. However so do the...
Jay,
Glad to hear to hear it not something more serious. Keep a close eye on it so it does not become more serious. Easy to ignore high blood pressure. Take care
Gary
When I did mine I used a tension type rod. It expend to compress against the side walls. I then used closet bar holders at each end to gave it more securely from slipping down. I could put it higher to cover most of that upper window above the sliding doors. It has worked great for 2/12 years.
mine are accessible. However, if they weren't if I ever had the dryer out for another reason I would add extra hoses between the shutoffs and the washer so I could place a shutoff were I could reach it. It would be well worth buying another set of washer hoses and some garden hose shuts offs...
I did this with an extension cord that I fished to the hitch. It stays there till I need to run the gen. I did need to use the cheater plug to keep the ems from tripping. Works great.
I just took off the black cap sawed off the pipe and put the black caps back on about a year ago. No trouble. You may want use some sort of glue to hold the cap on if it comes off.
We too prefer state parks and COE parks. We use an app called all stays to find parks look at their web sites, look at reviews and the satellite views to get a sense of weather we can get in or not. In the last two years of camping 4 to five months and moving at least every two weeks we have...
Re: Camp fire, Site questions
Mike,
Those are not biscuits they throw, It is home of thrower ROLLS. lol. Now I wish you could catch a couple for me along with their great fried okra. Oh and some of that sorghum!! Enjoy!!'
I leave mine in city position most of time. If I am connected to city the pump doesn't run even if pump is turned on. If city water disconnected or turned off the pump will pump tank water if pump turned on. If I am connected to city water but for some reason want use pump and tank then turn...
I have done
One side or other a number of times and many times the auto level does that. I have done both sides at once only a couple of times. Never any problems. I want to be hooked to truck or on fairly level ground front to back to take them all off. Wheel chocks are tricky want the wait...
Just another comment since you are newbies. Start off with easy sites and then as your experience and confidence grows you can be more daring in campground and site selection. Get a good system of giving each other directions when parking etc. and take your time. Plan on giving a lot of...
Our 4100 is almost as long. We have camped in it over 300 nights in the past two years. We have traveled from Iowa to Florida to Arizona to Vegas to Colorado to Iowa and places i between as well as other states nearby. We prefer state parks so move often. We have found that size rarely...
That is what I would do. If fact I did it even though I have 50amp service for those times when the pedestal is 30 amp. I did mine so I could use the 20 amp pedestal for the micro AC or fireplace depending on the situation. That was overkill but wasn't much more work or expense.
We love our 4100 for many of same of the same reasons. The patio, deck porch or whatever you what to call it. It serves many purposes. We have foam block flooring on ours so it makes a terrific play area for our small grandchildren. Or it is nice on the feet if I want to go out with shoes...
our attendance
Very disappointed to say that Carol and I will not be attending to rally after all. I had a knee replacement last week so I have canceled our reservation. My son Dave tried every which way to get me to have surgery at a different time. I wanted attend a great deal but this...
