If you get a campion your camping neighbors will hate you, VERY noisey.
The nice thing about LP is the fuel won't go bad after setting for along period of time. Which can be a big plus.
My first generator was a China knock off Honda, looked good on paper (cost less). My advice is buy a Honda...
No experience with an Anderson. If I was going back to a tongue pull trailer I would use the Equal-i-er which provides weight distribution and sway control. Made in Provo Ut. Had this set up on my last tongue pull and loved it. Almost as good as a 5th wheel.
I also level side to side first. But with the front of the 5th wheel slightly lower than level. I than put the back stabilizer jacks down and level the 5th wheel with the front jacks. Takes the weight off the tires makes thing a little less wiggly. (Yes I know stabilizer jack are not...
My last dealer de-winterizing experience was very similar. I now do my own winterizing and de-winterizing.
It's easy takes less than 15 mins and two bottles of RV anti freeze. No more Larry, Moe and Curly for me.
The nice thing about an electric awning, its easy to extend and retract. I do have a shade cloth that rolls up in the electric awning. Haven't had any problems to date.
I believe all of these test when done without a 5th wheel attached. I wonder how the addition of the trailer effects the wind flow in the truck bed.
I use the V shaped tail gate cause I'm lazy.
We do the drive from Pocatello, Id to Missoula, Mt twice a year. It's a very easy drive. If you do go this way stop at the School House in Dell, Mt for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Fabulous food.
II has been a long time since I traveled that road, and Yes their are a few switchbacks and steep grades. But, it's a very pretty drive. Shouldn't be a problem if you can take your time.
I just bought a used GMC duramax, 2006 with 95000 miles. Payed $25,0000 about 35% of a new one. I'm happy. But your right they do want a lot for a new or used truck.
Never thought about the weight of my batteries and just assumed that the front compartment would carry the weight. Guess what I'll be looking at tomorrow.
I have a Xantrex, it works. I can watch TV in the evening, run a small fan all night and heat up a cup of coffee microwave in the morning. I will say that the microwave won't do much more than heat a cup of coffee off the inverter.
I do have to reduce the charging input on the inverter by...
Here is a pic and a list of the things attached to bumper/sewer hose holder. 1 Yamaha 3000 watt generator, 2 X-pins (portable dog crate) and a cart.
The generator has two stingers welded to the bumper. The X-pin holder is clamped on like the 2 inch receiver used for the bike racks.
I check...
Speaking from the sales side, give him a week. And make sure you are getting a good hitch.
He needs your sale more than you need his trailer. Good luck.
